IMPLEMENTATION OF TAHDCO SCHEME
Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation in short terms known as “TAHDCO” is a Government under taking having its Head Quarters at Chennai.
In the year 1974 this corporation was started for the purpose of construction of housing to Adi Dravidars through Tamil Nadu. Then, from the year 1980 onwards the purpose of this corporation was extended to uplift the social and economic status of Adi dravidars by way of introducing Development activities, such as releasing subsidy to the bank loan availed by the Adi Dravidars.
Economic Development Activities
The schemes for TAHDCO were prepared according to the needs of the Adi dravidars and to improve the socio – economic status of the Scheduled Caste people by way of releasing subsidy for the loans issued by the banking institutions to the beneficiaries of their living service areas.
Land Purchase Scheme:
The aim of the schemes is to improve the land holding of Schedule Castes and to enhance their socio economic status in the District. The Government have issued orders for the exemption of 100% stamp duty for the registration of the land purchased under the scheme.
Eligibility
- The Applicant shall be a Scheduled Caste Women.
- The applicant should be in the age group of 18 -65.
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs.1.00 lakh.
- The Applicant should not own any agricultural land.
- The occupation of the Applicant should be agriculture.
- Applicants and their family members should not have availed any subsidy so far.
Conditions
- Applicants themselves should select the land to be purchased.
- The lands have to be purchased from the land owners who do not belong to Schedule Caste.
- The land purchased shall be registered only in the name of applicant.
- The land purchased shall not be sold out within twenty years.
Land Development Scheme:
The aim of the schemes is to improve the land holding of Schedule Castes and to enhance their socio economic status in the District.
Eligibility
- The Applicant shall be a Scheduled Caste.
- The applicant should be in the age group of 18 -65.
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs.1.00 lakh.
- Applicants and their family members should not have availed any subsidy so far.
Conditions
- The applicant who has the land registered in their name can alone take up land development activities.
- The land development activities of digging of open well, bore well and electrification of pump sets shall be taken up as per the NABARD guidelines.
- The feasibility certificate shall be obtained from geologist in respect of digging of open well / bore well.
Fast Track Power Supply (E.B. Deposit) Scheme:
Objective
SC farmers are encouraged to put their land for productive use by giving them priority power supply. Under this programme, Rs.75,000 is remitted to Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to enable them to effect service connections on priority basis
Eligibility
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs.1.00 lakh.
Conditions
- The applicant should own the land and Patta shall be in the name of applicant.
- Either an open well or a bore well should have been dug, in the land.
Entrepreneur Development Programme (EDP):
Objective:
- Financial Assistance to income generating activity
- The applicant should be in the age group of 18 -65.
Scheme Assistance
- Subsidy – 30% of Unit Cost or Rs.2.25 Lakh whichever is less
- Bank loan – Balance Amount
- The subsidy will be a Front End subsidy
Eligibility
- The applicant should have prior experience / desire and knowledge in the trade applied
- The applicant and their family members should not have availed any subsidy so far
- The applicant should Posses eligibility certificate issued by recognised institutions.
Entrepreneur Development Programme (Special) (EDP):
Setting up of Petrol /Diesel /Gas retail outlet Special Economic Schemes
Objective:
- Financial Assistance to income generating activity
- The applicant should be in the age group of 18 -65.
- To increase the entrepreneurs in the community
- In order to ensure an equitable participation of Adi dravidars in the process of industrialization this special scheme is introduced for setting up of petrol/diesel outlet.
Eligibility
- The applicant should reside in the district
- The applicant should have passed 12th Std.
- Annual family income should not exceed Rs.3.00 Lakh
- The applicant should Posses eligibility prescribed by the oil companies for appointment as agency.
Self Employment Programme for Youth (SEPY)
Youth in the age group of 18-45 are trained and escorted in obtaining financial assistance to commence ventures sustainable over a period of time.
The salient feature
30% of the project cost or Rs.2.25 lakhs whichever is lower. The subsidy will be a Front End Subsidy
Eligibility
- The applicant should belong to Scheduled Caste.
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs.1.00 lakh
- The applicant should be in the age group of 18 -45.
- The applicant should have prior experience in the trade applied.
- The Applicant and their family members should not have availed any subsidy so far.
- The applicant should posses’ eligibility certificate issued by recognised institutions.
Conditions
- Applicants themselves can select the trade.
- The assets created under the scheme shall be registered only in the name of the applicant.
- The applicant shall carryout the business in the district where subsidy is sanctioned.
Selp Employment Programme Setting up of CLINIC (SEPY-C)
- Financial Assistance to the young Doctors for setting up to own a Clinic, Pharmacy, Opticals, Physiotherapy, Formation and Development of Medical Laboratory and related items.
- Increase medical facilities in rural / semi urban areas
Eligibility
- To establish clinic, the applicant should have MBBS/BSMS/BDS/BAMS/BNYS/ Pharmacy, D.Pharm / B.Pharm, Opticals, Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant, Physiotherapy.
- The applicant and their family members should not have availed any subsidy under TAHDCO schemes
- The applicant should register his / her name in the Indian Medical Council
Revolving Fund & Economic Activities to Self help groups
- Revolving Fund assistance is given to Self Help Groups for internal lending among the group members.
- The SHGs are provided with economic assistance for starting income generating activities.
- Under this scheme Self help groups are eligible to get one time revolving fund and one time assistance for economic activity.
The salient feature
- Rs.25,000/- per Self Help Group will be released as a Front End Subsidy for revolving fund.
- 50% of the project cost or Rs.2.50 lakhs whichever is lower. The subsidy will be a Front End Subsidy for economic assistance.
Eligibility
- The members of the Self help groups shall belongs to Scheduled caste.
- The annual family income of the self help group members should not exceed Rs.1.00 lakh each.
- The self help group should have qualified in the first rating for Revolving Fund.
- The self help group should have qualified in second rating for Economic Assistance.
- The member of self help group and their family members should not have availed any subsidy so far.
District Collector / Managing Director / Chairman Tahdco Discretionary fund
The programme is designed to give immediate financial assistance to the persons who could not avail relief benefit under any TAHDCO / other scheme. Preference is given to differently-abled, destitute widows, Children who don’t have parents / guardians, Aravanies and unmarried women above 40 years. A maximum of Rs. 20,000/- per beneficiary is given as one time grant.
Financial Assistance to Candidates applying for Civil Service Main Examination:
- Applicant should have passed the Civil Service Examination.
- Applicant should have applied for Main Examination.
- The Applicant should not have a permanent / temporary employment of Central or State Government.
- The applicant can get above benefit under the scheme for three attempts only.
Financial Assistannce:
Rs. 50,000/- will be given as a cheque.
Financial Assistance to Law Graduates to Practice as an Advocate;
- Applicant should have passed a degree in law.
- The applicant should be a member of Bar Council of Tamil Nadu.
Financial Assistannce:
Rs. 50,000/- will be given as a cheque.
Financial Assistance to TNPSC Group-I
Preliminary Exam Passed Candidates
- Applicant should have passed Preliminary Examination.
- Applicant should have applied for Main Examination.
Financial Assistance to CA/CWA/CS Passed Candidates:
- The applicant should be in the age group of 25 to 45.
- The applicant should be a member of Indian Chartered Accountant Member of Registration.
Financial Assistannce
Rs. 50,000/- will be given as a cheque.
Financial Assistance to Industrial Tailoring Co-operative Society:
Purchase of Sewing Machines to Adidravidar through District Social Welfare Department Member of Tailoring Co-operative Society. 70% margin money with 4% Interest 30% Tahdco Subsidy released to the Member.
