The Following Schemes are implementing by Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department
1. Prematric Scholarship
Prematric Scholarship are provided to Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities students studying in English Medium in Government and Government aided Schools.

2. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme
Post Metric Scholarship are sanctioned from 11th Standard to Research level as per the rates prescribed by the Government as detailed below.

3. RURAL GIRLS INCENTIVE SCHEME
(MOST BACKWARD CLASSES AND DENOTIFIED COMMUNITY GIRLS ONLY)

4. DISTRIBUTION OF FREE SEWING MACHINES
Eligibility
- The beneficiary should belong to BC/MBC/DNCs.

- Should have Tailoring Knowledge.
- Age: From 20-45 Years.
5. DISTRIBUTION OF FREE IRON BOX
Eligibility
- The beneficiary should belong to BC/MBC/DNCs and doing washing work.
- The annual income should not exceed Rs. 72000/-

Admission Criteria
School Hostel
- Students (Boys/Girls) Should study from 4th Standard to 12th Standard.
- Parental annual income should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-
- Students residence should be at a distance of more than 8 kms. From the educational institutions. (This condition is not applicable to Girls Students)
College Hostel
- Student should study in Diploma U.G/P.G Course.
- Parental annual income should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-
- Student’s residence should be at a distance of more than 8 Kms from the educational Institution. (This condition is not applicable to Girls Students)
7. Denotified Communities Welfare Board :
The registered members of the the Denotified communities Welfare Board are provided with various welfare assistances as provided to the members of the Welfare Boards for un-organized labours functioning under the administrative control Labour and Employment Department.
8. TAMIL NADU NARIKORAVAR WELFARE BOARD:
The registered Members of the Tamil Nadu Narikoravar Welfare Board are sanctioned with various Welfare assistances as provided to the members of the unorganized Labour Welfare Boards and subsidy is also given for self employment.
9. TAMIL NADU BACKWARD CLASSES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LTD.(TABCEDCO)
The Tamil Nadu Backward Classes Economic Development Corporation is extending term loans to the Backward Classes /Most Backward Classes/ Denotified Communities for their socio-economic development, through various loan schemes.

Eligibility Criteria
- Beneficiaries should belong to Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities as in the State list or Central list.
- Annual family income shall not exceed Rs.98,000/ in respect of Rural areas and Rs.1,20,000/- in Urban areas.
- Beneficiariy should be aged above 18 years and below 60years.
- Loan assistance will be sanctioned for one person in a family.
10. MINORITIES SCHOLARSHIP – PREMATRIC
The Scholarship will be sanctioned to the students pursuing studies from 1st std to 10th std.,

Marks | Students should have obtained not less than 50% marks in the previous year Examination (Except for std I) provided Scholarship sanctioned under this scheme. |

11. POSTMATRIC SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship will be sanctioned to the students pursing studies in Std. XI, XII Vocational for XI & XII Std. ITI/ITCs, NCVT Courses, Polytechnic, Diploma in Teacher Training/Nursing, Under Graduate & Post Graduate Degree courses, M.Phil, Research Studies (Ph.D) and the courses which are not covered under Merit-cum-means Scholarship Schemes. The details of Religion/wise scholarship (Fresh) allotted are as follow:-

12. TAMIL NADU MINORITIES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LTD. (TAMCO)
Tamco is implementing Term Loan, micro Finance & Education Loan for economic advancement of Minorities viz., Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains.

13. ULEMA AND OTHER PERSONNEL WELFARE BORAD
- Ulema and Other Personnel Welfare Board was formed and functioning for the Social, Economical and Educational advancement to the Ulemas. In Tamil Nadu.
- The employees working in Mosque, Madharasas, Teachers in Arabic School, Mothinars, Bilals,Durgahs, Asharkhana Thaikkahs, Khabarasthan etc. are become eligible for members for availing financial assistance
- Age between 18 years completed and within 60 years.
- Identity Card will be given to the Members of the Board at free of cost.
- Member should renew their ID cards once in three years.
14. PRIME MINISTER’S NEW 15 POINT PROGRAMME
The Prime Minister’s new 15 Point Programme has been launched in order to augment the educational opportunities, ensure due share in employment and to promote the Minorities in the spheres of economic and social status and also to prevent and control the communal riots.
The Scheme wise performance under the Prime Minister’s New 15 point programme are as under.
- Equitable availability of ICDS Services (SWD & NMP Dept)
- Improving Access to school education (School Education Dept.)
- Greater resources for teaching URDU (School Education Dept)
- Modernizing Madarasa Education (School Education Dept., )
- Scholarship for Meritorious Students from Minority Communities.
- Improving Educational infrastructure through Maulana Azad education foundation.
- Self employment and wage employment for the poor (Rural Development & Panchayat RajDept.,)
- Up gradation of Skills through Technical Training (Labour and Employment Dept., )
- Enhanced Credit support for economic activities (TAMCO)
- Equitable share in Rural Housing Scheme (Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Dept,)
- Improvement in condition of slums inhabited by minority communities (Housing & Urban Development Dept.)
- Prevention of Communal Incidents
- Prosecution for communal offence.
- Rehabilitation of victims of communal Riots.
15. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR REPAIRS AND RENOVATION OF CHURCHES
The Government have introduced a financial assistance for Repairs and Renovation of Churches in Tamil Nadu during the year 2016-17.
- Church should be registered and functioning in own building with minimum period of 10 years.
- Financial assistance will be sanctioned considering the damages and age of the churches.
- No financial support should be obtained from the foreign countries to this effect.
16. SCHEME FOR INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT PRIVATE AIDED/ UNAIDED MINORITY INSTITUTES (IDMI)
The Scheme will fund infrastructure development of private aided/ unaided minority elementary/ secondary/ senior secondary schools to the extent of 75% and subject to a maximum of Rs. 50 lakhs per school for Strengthening of educational infrastructure and physical facilities in the existing elementary/secondary/senior secondary school including additional classrooms, science/ computer lab rooms, library rooms, toilets, drinking water facilities etc.,
17. THE MULTI-SECTORAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (MsDP)
The Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MsDP) was conceived as a special initiative of the follow up action on the Sachar Committee recommendations. It is Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) approved by the Government in the beginning of the 11th five Year Plan and launched in the year 2008-09 in 90 Minority Concentrations Districts (MCDs). It is an area by creating socio-economic infrastructure and providing basic amenities.
