Extensive computerised systems were implemented in Tiruvarur District  with the initiatives taken by Thiru C. Umashankar I.A.S., the then Collector of Tiruvarur District.  This is supplemented by the IT services of National Informatics Centre (NIC)  District Unit at Tiruvarur.
